CERAMICSOver the years, Henriette exhibited her work, both solo and in groups, mainly ceramics in combination with paintings. Originally she worked with woodashglazes on free bird and fish-like shapes. Later she became interested in sefmade clay slibs and working with graffito.
She makes a large pots with lids, both turned and hand built, and used as urns. More organic shapes with lids |
FELTFelting in a ceramics studio is a little unusual, but Henriette did besides ceramics as a second degree textile arts.
It felt its currently completely captivated: there make wonderful textures and shapes just like ceramics. |
DECORATIONSThe decorations she uses are shapes and motifs inspired by old patterns of primitive cultures. Through repetition and color usage patterns that emerge look surprisingly modern.

HEATING TECHNIQUES
Her pieces are usually hand-built and often raku fired. This is done outside in a gas or wood-burning oven.
|
TEXTUREIn recent years, Henriette works with homemade outriggers of natural forms so that the clay gets more texture. Her use of color became quieter and uses less kleislibs and more washed in oxides which emphasize the texture of the clay.
